Iron Man 2: The Videogame is set for release simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP next month, and features an entirely originally storyline that will align with that of the forthcoming Iron Man 2 motion-picture.

A Burmese cat named Colin will appear alongside his owner, music & audio legend Allister Brimble (hundreds of audio tracks over the years including many of the early Team17 hits) at Bath Spa University this week. Colin was perhaps one of the very first voice-over artists to actually be an animal when he provided the basis for many of the sound-effects that were to grace Team17's break-out hit Alien Breed in 1991 (pictured below), to which a glamorous current-generation sequel was launched on Xbox LIVE Arcade late last year.

Independent developer and publisher IllFonic has announced its plans to launch the futuristic arena-based First-Person Shooter (FPS), Nexuiz, across downloadable console platforms in 2010. Originally developed by Alientrap Software as a free open source shooter in 2005 for the PC, Nexuiz has been downloaded by over four million unique users. IllFonic’s remake of Nexuiz for console gamers features a new Victorian influenced art style that is simultaneously futuristic and sophisticated.

SEGA Europe has announced that the new title from PlatinumGames and Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil series, Vanquish, will be available in Winter 2010 on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Revealed in late January with an impressive CGI trailer, Vanquish is a Science-Fiction Shooter set in the near-future, in a world hanging on a delicate balance.
