THQ
have announced an agreement whereby the company will distribute Stubbs
the Zombie: Rebel without a Pulse in PAL territories. Guaranteed
to turn heads, this third-person Action game is an original IP by
Bungie Studio veterans that uses an updated Halo:
Combat Evolved engine to deliver a stirring tale of one
man's hunger for love, justice... and brains. The game is scheduled
to be released in February 2005.
Under
the terms of the agreement, THQ will distribute the title on Xbox in
all territories outside North America
and Japan and for the PC in all territories outside North America,
Japan, Russia, Slovenia, Poland,
Hungary and Czech Republic.
“We’re
excited to be able to bring this unique and innovative title to PAL
territories,” stated Ian Curran, senior vice president, THQ (UK)
Ltd. “Working with Aspyr gives us a great opportunity to grow our
global business and strengthen our position as a leading video game
publisher.”
“THQ’s
expertise in managing key brands makes them an excellent partner,”
said Vip Patel, vice president, Aspyr Europe. "We’re
confident that their team will do a great job getting Stubbs the
Zombie: Rebel Without A Pulse into the hands of eagerly awaiting
fans,”
Playing
as a Zombie – with the ability to give those unpleasant, violent
humans a piece of your mind...by eating theirs – you run amok
possessing humans, using limbs as body parts and destroying an
entire city. Eating human brains results in slowly creating a small
army of AI Zombie buddies, who, much as yourself, have the ability
to rip off their own limbs for use as weaponry.
Stubbs
The Zombie: Rebel Without A Pulse has garnered some interest
here at Electronic Theatre. Setting itself during the US
Depression, its political satire is certainly a welcoming
proposition, although it’ll certainly have to maintain the wit
throughout to compete with this year’s comical offering from THQ, Destroy
All Humans! All we have to do now is hope that Bungie can
further their credence within the industry, and deliver two well
appreciated franchises.
