SONY’s PlayStation3 was expected to
be the beast of this year’s show. However a strictly limited number
of games knocked the presentation for six as publishers, developers
and media alike attacked the viability of SONY’s global launch
plans. The PlayStation brand is undoubtedly the biggest in
videogames, and we’re yet to see if any of this will have an impact
on the system’s success come
November, 2006.
The array of games playable for the
system was incredibly limited. First-Party offerings such as Gran
Turismo HD, Motorstorm, Warhawk, Resistance:
Fall Of Man and Eye Of Judgement impressed on varying
levels and were supported by the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog
and Full Auto 2: Battlelines and Coded Arms: Assault
from the eager Third-Parties, however both Devil May Cry 4
and KillZone were conspicuously notable by their absence.
Full details on the big-hitters are listed below, enjoy – and wait
with your breath-baited; it’s going to be a long haul this
generation. |
