Electronic Theatre Special: Sales Chart

Week Ending 30th September, 2006.

Things are looking a little different in the Sales Chart this week. Testament to the UK ’s love for the beautiful game, the multi-format FIFA 07 is straight in a Number 1. Electronic Theatre ImageJust Cause and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007 stand firm at two and three respectfully whilst LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy has fallen all the way to four. Top of the format-exclusive games is the sequel to the popular SquareEnix/Disney collaboration Kingdom Hearts, the aptly named Kingdom Hearts II, something likely to please SquareEnix’s recently formed European publishing department – especially after disappointing sales of their first self-published title, Dragon Quest: The Journey Of The Cursed King. LMA Manager 2007 is still holding on this week, falling only two places to Number 6, although the imminent release of the next installation of the excellent Football Manager series and hefty competition from the forthcoming Championship Manager releases may see that figure drastically change in future weeks.

Relic’s PC-exclusive World War II epic Real-Time Strategy Company Of Heroes enters at a respectable seven with Disney/Pixar: Cars falling three places to eight. Buoyed by its PSP and Xbox360 releases, The Godfather is still holding at nine. The insane popularity of NintendoDS software is clearly waning now with only a single NintendoDS exclusive within the Top Ten; Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? – which really is little of a surprise. No huge changes in the teens this week, aside from the reintroduction of Project Gotham Racing 3 to the Top Twenty, probably due to it being bundled with the Xbox360 Premium Units, with an RRP of only £299.99.
