Electronic Theatre Special: Sales Chart

Week Ending 14th October, 2006.

Strong as ever, FIFA 07 once again dominates UK videogame sales, holding the top position for a third successive week. It seems the Film Licence is also a favourite, with the newly released Scarface: The World Is Yours rampaging intoElectronic Theatre Image second place, with the ever popular LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy following at three. The rebellion refuses to die at four, buoyed by Just Cause’s hefty Xbox360 sales. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 slips slightly to five, displacing Kingdom Hearts II one place to a respectable sixth position.

Despite New Super Mario Bros. being absent from the Top 10 and 42 All-Time Classics failing to advance upwards from last weeks promising spot, the NintendoDS still finds itself with a Top 10 exclusive, an impressive four months after its release, in the shape of an ascendant Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?, ranking this week at seven. The UK’s third Film Licence, Disney/Pixar: Cars, falls two to eight this week, although its uncharacteristic longevity in the Top 10 certainly bodes well for the upcoming Next-Generation iterations. This season’s second Football Management Simulator, Championship Manager 2007, enters solidly at nine while Project Gotham Racing 3 rounds out the Top 10, likely heralding an impressive Christmas showing for the Xbox360.

The teens remain as stagnant as ever, with a quota of ever-present Mario, Sims and Star Wars titles together with the titles suffering from declining sales, leaving the Top 10. New entries come in the form of this year’s Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Open Season, the top twenty’s fifth Film Licence, sixth if you count both releases in the LEGO Star Wars series individually.
