Football is still king of the charts this week. Knocking FIFA 07
off the top-spot to two is the newly released Football
Manager 2007, the widely respected Football Management
Simulator. The second new release of the week comes in the form of
another simulator, the newest The Sims 2 iteration; The
Sims 2: Pets. Scarface: The World Is Yours holds-up well,
falling only two places to four, while yet another popular sequel,
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent enters at five. The
number six position is held this week by the ever popular LEGO
Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, followed by the seventh, and
not the last, sequel, the new entry Battlefield 2142. Still
refusing to leave the Top 10 is the multi-format
Disney/Pixar: Cars, holding firm at eight this week.
After a respectable term at the top, Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour 07
is falling rapidly, dropping four this week to nine, despite finally
receiving it’s delayed Xbox360 release. The Top 10 is rounded out by
the third football title, Championship Manager 2007, down one
place from nine. Nine sequels or expansions and one Film Licence
make up the Top 10, with plenty more in the teens, is it any wonder
the industry is deprived of original titles?
