Electronic Theatre Special: Sales Chart

Week Ending 05th January, 2007.

There’s no prizes for guessing who is top-dog yet again this week, although the Top 10 has been shaken-up a little. Electronic Arts shareholders can continue their New Year party for a little longer, as iterations of some of the publishers top franchises, FIFA 07, Need For Speed: Carbon and The Sims 2: Pets are holding firm at one, two and three respectively. Pro Electronic Theatre ImageEvolution Soccer 6 falls a couple to four, while Canis Canem Edit experiences a bit of a comeback, this week rising three to five. Shooting Nazi’s is still one of the UK’s favourite pastimes as Call Of Duty 3s respectable sixth placing shows, as are Film Licenses, given the seemingly irrepressible Disney/Pixar: Carsrise to seventh place and the Top 10 re-entry of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy at eight. Proving you can’t keep a good videogame icon down, NEW Super Mario Bros. has returned once again to the Top 10, this week occupying the ninth position. Rounding-out the Top 10 is the Xbox360 success story, the bloodily gratifying gorefest, Gears Of War.

The teens are still the purgatory of falling stars and established franchises with no real surprises aside from the unfathomable re-entry of The Simpsons: Hit & Run at twenty. Given the dearth of new releases at this time of year, it’ll be a huge shock should the chart change drastically next week as the only big releases come in the form of the current Xbox360 exclusive Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Nintendo’s Wii and NintendoDS releases, WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Children Of Mana.
