Electronic Theatre Special: Sales Chart

Week Ending 2nd February, 2007.

It’s been two weeks since the last Electronic Theatre Special: Sales Chart Electronic Theatre Imageand things have been more than little shaken-up in the chart. Back in pole-position is Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, which, considering the lack of notable releases for the Xbox360, does make some sense, but given the multi-format nature of the chart, may surprise some and is likely to spur Capcom to make more Xbox360 exclusives, given the success of this and their earlier effort, Dead Rising. Still battling on, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 finally takes the lead against FIFA 07, taking this weeks second place, with EA’s premier football franchise trailing at three. Proving the immortal power of the venerable Mega-Drive, SEGA Mega-Drive Collection enters the chart at an incredible fourth place, with SEGA’s old nemesis Nintendo enjoying continued sales of its current AAA Wii title WarioWare: Smooth Moves; holding on to a Top 10 spot at five. Despite FIFA 07 falling slightly, EA can still take comfort in the fact that Need For Speed: Carbon still has a few miles left in it, this week at six. More success for Nintendo, as Wii Play and NEW Super Mario Bros. occupy seven and eight, proving once and for all that Nintendo can’t be counted out of the videogame industry any time soon. We’ve no idea how this continues to happen, but Disney/Pixar: Cars is still in the Top 10! Parking it’s self at ninth and likely single handily funding THQ’s future efforts. Rounding out the Top 10 is The Sims 2: Pets.

The teens are all over the place this week, with notable changes coming in the form of a new release of dubious quality Little Britain: The Video Game, another resurgence from The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, up eight to thirteen and the decent of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, down a huge thirteen places to eighteen.
