One of
the best-selling First-Person Shooters of 2007 is heading full speed
towards SONY’s PLAYSTATION. The underwater
extravaganza
was
released
for
the Xbox360 and PC last August, and
was well received by both
the public and
Electronic Theatre, being awarded a pleasing 81% in our
In-depth Review. But how is the port to SONY’s monster coming?
BioShock
is
being developed for the PLAYSTATION3 by 2K Boston and Digital
Extremes, the team also responsible for
Dark Sector, a title
which also performed very well, so expectations are high. The
PLAYSTATION3 release of BioShock will contain all the
contents of the original, plus extra exclusive Downloadable Content.
The
game is set in the 1920’s, after your plane crashes in the ocean you
head for a small island, which leads to an underwater utopia. But
something is wrong, the survivors attack you and the place is
decaying. Following the voice of some guy you heard on the radio
called Atlas, and using special powers you gain from an addictive
drug called ADAM, you blast and electrify your way through the
beautiful incredibly well designed art nouveau city, the infamous
Rapture.
The
new Downloadable Content will come in the form of Challenge Rooms
within the game; small puzzle rooms which you will find at
pre-determined locations during the Single-Player Campaign. Each
Challenge Room will have multiple ways to complete them, apparently
to accommodate different players play styles. There will also be an
in-built clock to time your puzzle-solving skills. The title, as
much reported recently, also features the PLAYSTATION3 Trophy
System.
It’s
all shaping up rather nicely isn’t it? PLAYSTATION3 owners are in
for a treat when BioShock ships later this year. |
