TECMO KOEI Europe Ltd. teamed-up with the Big Chill festival and FILM4’s upcoming mockumentary I Spit On Your Rave (charting a behind-the-scenes look at the first post-apocalypse zombie music festival) last weekend to break the world record for gathering as many zombies together in a single place at one time. Hosted by the zombie king himself, Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), the zombie gathering opened at 5pm on Thursday 6th of August at the Big Chill Festival and Tecmo Koei’s Undead Knights made its’ presence felt.

A total of 4,026 zombie fans joined in one place to break the Guinness World Record for the largest amount of zombies caught on camera, for forthcoming zom-comUndead Knights I Spit On Your Rave. In order to take part in these events wannabe zombies had to be a Big Chill Festival ticket holder and look like one of the undead; as the Tecmo Koei Europe team aptly demonstrated.

The crew from Tecmo Koei Europe where on-hand at the Big Chill festival to inform the zombie participants of the arrival of Undead Knights, doing so in a fashion it seems only they know how. Equipped with two minor cosplay celebrities, Laura Sindall and Kaman Fong, Undead Knights t-shirts and postcards and not nearly enough brains to share between them, the Tecmo Koei Europe team raised awareness for the forthcoming PlayStation Portable (PSP) exclusive release, as well as assisting others giveaway their souls by sponsoring a number of zombification tents throughout the grounds.

Undead Knights will be unleashed exclusively on PSP early in 2010, and sees you control vast hordes of marauding zombies as you attempt to overthrow a medieval kingdom by infecting enemy soldiers, turning rivals into undead brain-munchers, and commanding legions of shuffling jaw-clackers. Currently looking like a cross between the Pikmin and Overlord series, Undead Knights tasks the player with using their undead troops to overcome obstacles, solves puzzles and take out rivals in combat. Commanding up to ten undead warriors simultaneously, hopes are currently very high that Tecmo Koei will deliver an intriguing and unique experience on PSP.

Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the forthcoming Undead Knights, as well as the adventures of the brain-hungry Tecmo Koei Europe editorcommentaryblip.JPGteam. In the meantime, why not checkout the stars of Undead Knights, Remus Blood and Sylvia, in action.

Undead Knight sounds pretty cool. Is it going to be released on PSN? I'll probably get it when i get my PSP Go if it is.

Yeah, this does sound alright actually. May be a reason to dust off that PSP finally!

Have we got a date yet? or is it just "2010"?
