Namco Bandai Games Reveal MCM Expo Line-Up

Namco Bandai Games have today announced an exciting line-up of titles to be exhibited over three stands at the MCM Expo in Docklands Excel Arena over the weekend of the 24th-25th October. Amongst them will be the eagerly anticipated Massively Multi-player Online (MMO) game, Star Trek Online with Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and Ghostbusters: The Video Game along with a Guinness World Record attempt for the longest winning streak on the imminent Tekken 6, set to launch on Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 on October 30th.

The Star Trek Online stand will feature eight hi-spec PCs running the closed beta in all its galactic glory for show-goers to play. On the opposite stand as part of the MCM Expo’s impressive guests line-up, Terry Farrell (aka Jadzia Dax) and Nicole De Boer (aka Ezri Dax) from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, will be accompanied by acclaimed DS9 writer, Ron D Moore, conducting signings for the legions of Star Trek fans expected to attend the show.

On the Tekken 6 stand, Phil Mackenzie who won the recent NEO Empire tournament (with a broken arm...) will be attempting to set the Guinness World Electronic Theatre ImageRecord for the longest winning streak between 10am and 1pm. Guinness World Records official adjudicators will be on hand to witness the event as he attempts to set the record all discerning Tekken fans will be trying to beat. All comers are welcome to take him on, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to beat the champ now he has the full use of both his arms, step up!

Guinness World Records Gaming Manager, Gareth Deaves, said: “The Tekken series already holds several records in the 2010 Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition, and it’s going to be great to see how long Phil can last against the fierce competition at the show. We’ll be there to keep a blow-by-blow account of the record attempt and to make sure it’s a fair fight.”

The Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2010 is the third annual instalment of the critically acclaimed best-selling compendium of records, facts, and trivia from the world of videogames. This year’s edition features over 1,000 new records and exclusiveElectronic Theatre Image images, making it the ultimate authority on gaming achievement. Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2010 will be available from January 2010.

Over on the main stand there will be playable code for a host of great titles including Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast, Dragon Ball Z: Revenge of King Piccolo, One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2: Awakening of a Hero, Family Trainer: Extreme Challenge, Tekken 6 and Magnacarta 2.

The main stand will also feature a Tales of series cosplay competition at 1pm on Saturday. The best Tales of cosplayer of the day will win a copy of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for Wii along with exclusive artwork signed by Troy Baker, the voice of ‘Regal Bryant’ in the game. To enter, simply approach a Namco Bandai Games staff member, give them your name and phone number and let them know which Tales of character you have come as.

Troy Baker, who also voices ‘Slimer’ in Ghostbusters: The Video Game will also be on the main stand to conduct signings for fans from 2-3pm. Electronic Theatre will be on the show floor at the London MCM Expo this weekend, delivering you all the latest from the event as it happens.
