Blitz Arcade, a division of Blitz Games Studios, has officially announced that its upcoming cross-platform kung fu digital release, Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao will be the first console videogame to include true digital stereoscopic 3D technology.
Published by Namco Bandai Games, Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao lets players get their kung fu on, 70’s style, as Han Tao battles across ancient China in search of the stolen Star of Destiny. The game leaps into action on 26th August on Xbox LIVE Arcade and 27th August on PlayStation Network.
A side-scrolling 2D experience, Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao also gives the option for players to experience a whole new dimension of gaming with digital stereoscopic 3D technology. Crisp-and-clear 3D depth of field can be viewed without sacrificing colour or clarity through most high-end 3D Ready TVs. The game also includes anaglyph 3D which is compatible with any television set and a pair of standard anaglyph glasses.
“We’ve worked really hard to make Invincible Tiger a kung fu arcade action game that’s fun to play but difficult to master,” said Ollie Clarke, Project Director at Blitz Arcade. “During the game’s development we took up the challenge to implement our groundbreaking BlitzTech Digital Stereoscopic 3D technology, resulting in Digital 3D as an option in the game. It runs at 60 frames per second and creates a super smooth immersive gaming experience for the home 3DTV audience. 3D is here and 3D is fun!”
Added Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations for Namco Bandai Games: “We’re very excited to be breaking new technology ground with Invincible Tiger’s Digital 3D option. The inclusion of the 3D technology gives players the opportunity to view and play this already fantastic game in a whole new way.”
Han Tao faces a cavalcade of enemies, ranging from henchmen to undead fighters throughout the game. Luckily, he’s well equipped with intense combos, slick counter-moves, the ability to wield deadly weapons and mystical Zen attacks. Players can fill Han Tao’s Zen Meter with punishing combos and well-timed dodges and unlock the full potential of his power to annihilate his enemies. Sliding down ropes, going through doors, climbing up poles or jumping on roofs, Han Tao is also able to use his environment to quickly escape danger or catch enemies off guard.
Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao offers a variety of multi-player modes for both online and local play. Team-up with a partner and take on the Evil Overlord’s diabolical army through Story Mode Co-op or battle an endless stream of enemies under a specific time limit with Endurance Mode.
