With Nintendo revealing the autumn/winter release schedule last week, THQ have begun detailing various titles on included in the line-up. Electronic Theatre brought you details on The Biggest Loser for Wii and Nintendo DS yesterday, and today it’s the turn of Spongebob: Truth or Square.
SpongeBob SquarePants has gotten himself into quite a predicament. After being entrusted by Mr. Krabs to keep the Krabby Patty formula safe, SpongeBob is overcome with grief for losing the recipe. He then relies on the help of the most unlikely companion, Plankton, who wants the secret Krabby Patty recipe for himself.
With the help of his friends, SpongeBob must use Plankton's memory machine to retrace the happiest moments of his life to find the Krabby Patty formula in time for the Krusty Krab's Eleventy Seventh anniversary.
Spongebob: Truth or Square will allow players to turn SpongeBob into a number of different objects, including a Sledgehammer to whack intruders, a WaterBob sponge to spew liquid and stun enemies, or even an Explosive Canon to aim and hit objects in the distance. Players will run, jump and spin through thirteen challenging levels filled with havoc-oriented gameplay, which on Wii will support two-player co-operative games. Watch out for familiar faces from the series that have become seriously deformed, as these supersized enemies take quite a bit of damage to bring down. All platforms will feature the multi-player “truth or square” trivia game including over 150 questions for the novices as well as the expert.
Spongebob: Truth or Square will be available on PlayStation Portable (PSP), Nintendo DS and Wii, with Wii MotionPlus Support, on 13th November 2009 with a Recommended Retail Price of £24.99. The game will also be released on Xbox 360, marking Spongebob Squarepants’ full-retail debut on the system, on the same date with an RRP of £39.99. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest from THQ.
