Recently released on the Nintendo DS, SEGA’s Sonic Classic Collection features the first four 16-bit Platform titles in the Sonic The Hedgehog series. As four of the most famous Sonic The Hedgehog games, Sonic Classic Collection’s line-up will certainly attract the attention of both long time fans and younger gamers who have become invested in the series through its’ more recent outings. But the Nintendo DS is known for its’ groundbreaking 2D Platform releases, and so a question remains over whether the aging series can achieve anything greater than inducing nostalgia.

Rising Star Games has confirmed that Avalon Code, from the creative minds behind Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon and Harvest Moon and the development studio responsible for the Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV Nintendo DS remakes, will be available at UK retailers from today, exclusively on the Nintendo DS.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has annouced Galactic Taz Ball, a new videogame for the Nintendo DS starring Taz, the frenetically fantastic Looney Tunes character beloved by all. The game will be available for Europe in May 2010 and for North America in Autumn 2010.

Electronic Arts has announced that it will release six individual FLIPS titles between now and summer 2010 for the Nintendo DSi. This new wave of titles, exclusively available as digitally downloadable content (DLC) for the Nintendo DSi, is also slated to come to North American DSiWare Store, making it the first interactive kids’ book series to become available on the popular handheld platform in North America.

Following the rumours last week, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially confirmed plans to create the next Scribblenauts for Nintendo DS, a follow-up to the hit videogame where players use their imagination to write any word, bring that object to life and use it to solve puzzles. Set to be available in Autumn 2010, the follow-up game expands the innovative elements from the acclaimed first title with many inventive new features, including an adjectives system that allows players to push the limits of their imagination to create their own experience.

Nintendo Europe has confirmed a European launch for WarioWare: Do It Yourself, the recently revealed Nintendo DS Microgame compilation title. Set to arrive at stores across the continent on April 30th 2010, WarioWare: Do It Yourself is intended to demonstrate the enhanced experience available with the Nintendo DSi XL, just as WarioWare: Touched! did for the original Nintendo DS and WarioWare: Smooth Moves for Wii.

Originally launched in Japan back in July last year, where it has since gone on to sell 4.15 million copies.
