Premier videogame publisher Iceberg Interactive and Noviy Disk, publisher and distributor of software and games across Russian-speaking territories, have signed a mutual publishing agreement for the release of several exiting PC titles. Iceberg Interactive will start with the release of the epic hack-and-slash game Ninja Blade across the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Benelux, Portugal and Italy.
The game is set in modern-day Tokyo and features the young ninja Ken, who is an expert blade master. Ninja Blade has already been released for the Xbox 360 earlier this year, but will now also be available for the PC by the end of November 2009, thanks to From Software. The Xbox 360 release was warmly received, with Electronic Theatre stating in our in-depth review: “Ninja Blade is an entirely enjoyable ride from start to finish, with some extraordinarily bizarre set-pieces holding interest through each of its’ nine lengthy missions.”
PC gamers will be given the almost impossible task to defend Tokyo and ultimately humanity itself from horrific, genetically mutating parasites. The game is a pure
adrenaline rush, featuring spectacular ninja combo’s and powers, great graphics and cinematic cut-scenes intertwined with the action.
Noviy Disk will publish three Iceberg Interactive PC games in Russia, starting off with Adam’s Venture and Poker Simulator, to be followed next year with the Lovecraft inspired Horror Adventure Darkness Within 2: The Dark Heritage, which is the sequel to the original In Pursuit of Loath Nolder and which concludes the Darkness Within series.
Erik Schreuder, CEO of Iceberg Interactive said: “Iceberg and Noviy Disk respect each others’ market knowledge and expertise. We’re very pleased to be releasing each others’ games in territories that we publish in and think this is an excellent form of co-publishing that could well be repeated in the future. We think Ninja Blade is a great action game that will surprise many PC gamers.”
Anna Raspopova, International PR at Noviy Disk added: “We look very much forward to a successful co-operation with the Iceberg team, which I am sure will bring us more opportunities in the future. I am eagerly waiting to see what that future brings. We certainly hope that Ninja Blade will win everyone’s heart!”
From Software’s Ninja Blade will be available for purchase on PC later this month from Iceberg Interactive, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details.
