THQ have today released the European launch trailer for Blood Bowl, the ultra-violent sports videogame based on the tabletop game from the Warhammer Fantasy world. Set for release across Europe tomorrow PC, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable (PSP), Blood Bowl pits Orcs against Elves, and Dwarves against the Skaven ratmen, and Goblins against the forces of Chaos in the bloodiest sporting arenas ever seen.

The game is a combination of a Wargame and a sports game. The basics are extremely simple: two teams, one ball. The team that carries the ball into the opponent's end zone scores a touchdown, the team with the most touchdowns at the end of the game is the winner. However, it’s how you decide to do this that makes things interesting, the ends justify the means.

It’s not just the players you have at your disposal either. You can bribe the referee’s to look the other way as you cripple or trample annoying opponents and hire illegal wizards to give you a hand directly from the crowd… Blood Bowl severely tests the finest tacticians' strategies.

THQ picked-up the rights to publish the Nintendo DS, PSP and PC versions of Cyanide Studios’ Blood Bowl back in August, with a European launch set for tomorrow. There has been no word as of yet as to whether the Xbox 360 version will ever arrives in UK stores, but Electronic Theatre will keep you updated.
