Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has revealed the launch date for the forthcoming highly-anticipated releases of both God of War III and the God of War III: Ultimate Trilogy Edition in Europe. While a March release has been on the cards for some time, Electronic Theatre can today confirm that the phenomenally popular God of War series will make it’s PlayStation 3 debut on March 19^th, 2010.

            God of War III finds Kratos raining carnage and destruction upon the Gods who have betrayed him. Armed with his infamous and deadly double-chained blades, Kratos will take on mythology’s darkest creatures while solving intricate puzzles on his merciless quest to destroy Olympus and the mighty Zeus himself. The epic scale of God of War III reaches heights unseen in the franchise - not only must Kratos ascend the summit of Mount Olympus to reach his revenge, but he must do it while navigating on the back of a titan who could crush the Statue of Liberty in the palm of it's hand.

            God of War III will be available in two very different retail packages here in the UK, the standard release arriving with the standard PlayStation 3 first-party release Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of £44.99 – and set to be offered for the typical £39.99 by most high street retailers. In addition, the God of War III: Ultimate Trilogy Edition will not only include God of War III, but also the highly sought-after God of War and God of War II high-definition recreations that form the God of War Collection in North America. Further to this however, a whole host of God of War themed bonuses are set to be included in the package – you can find out details on the full contents right here. Fantastic, since i never played the first 2 games when they originally came out i can buy the entire trilogy on day 1 and then play through them in order. :)

Final Fantasy XIII, Quantum Theory, Yakuza 3, Pokemon HG/SS, GOW Collection AND GOW 3 in one month? March is easily the biggest month of 2010 for gaming. Possibly the biggest month of gaming EVER.
