Electronic Theatre Image             Stated for release at the end of year is Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. From the makers of the much loved Hack-N’-Slash series X-Men: Legends; Raven Software, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance will feature very similar gameplay to the developer’s earlier titles, except this time will include characters from the entire Marvel universe, instead of just the X-Men. Raven have promised over twenty playable characters in the game, as well as over 140 cameo appearances from popular Marvel characters.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Metal SLUG

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre Image              Here at Electronic Theatre we’re pretty big fans of SNK’s superb scrolling Shoot -‘Em-Up series Metal SLUG. Therefore we were especially disappointed to find that the demonstration version at SNK’s E3 2006 stand wasn’t working! However, a quick flick of the Power Button by a helpful executive was enough to get our preview back on-track and we’re pleased to announce that Metal SLUG for the Game Boy Advance has lost little in it’s conversion from the Arcade original.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Mario Tennis Advance

With your sparkly new NintendoDS and the recently released GameCube rendition of Super Mario Tennis, Mario Tennis Advance may not necessarily be on top of your Nintendo-must-have list. Needless to say, the last in Nintendo’s long-line of Mario-themed sports titles is far from anything related to a bad game.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Metal Slug: Super Vehicle

Metal Slug is a bit of an odd-ball when it comes to mainstream releases. Present in the arcades during my childhood, the title vanished into obscurity shortly after due to its limited release on all-too-scarce Neo-Geo machines. Briefly surfacing in the poorest edition in the series, Metal Slug X on the PlayStation, it’s not till last year did we finally get our hands on some decent console versions.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Herby: Fully Loaded

Before I get started with this one – don’t start spitting at the screen in disgust. Yes, this is Herby. No, this is not some cheap cash-in on a 30-year-old film; this is a brand new, well thought-out production. However, whether or not a well though-out production turns into a playable game is another matter.

Electronic Theatre Preview: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre ImageWhen I found out that a game (and a movie) was being made of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, my heart sank. There goes another of my childhood memories down the pan. But I was a little pleasantly surprised by this title currently in development for the Game Boy Advance (and many other consoles).

Electronic Theatre Preview: Tim Burtons' The Nightmare Before Christmas

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre ImageTim Burtons’ The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Pumpkin King shall be released for the Game Boy Advance in conjunction with games for the home consoles. The title appears to be aimed at younger players as it is a very straightforward 2D-platformer. It doesn’t appear to offer us anything new and could be used with any generic character.
