Judging by the prices quoted by SONY for the PlayStation3 at Monday’s Pre-E3 Press Conference, it seems rational to assume that most PlayStation2 owners won’t be upgrading on Launch Day. It also seems that these are the thoughts of many developers given the solid showing of PlayStation2 software at this year’s E3.

As part of a new-beginning for SquareEnix, Dragon Quest: The Journey Of The Cursed King (Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey Of The Cursed King in Japan and the US ) is to be published by themselves in Europe, along with Final Fantasy XI for the Xbox360, and will be available in the UK exclusively on the PlayStation2 in April, 2006.

I’m sure that it’ll be no shock to any regulars at the Electronic Theatre to learn that of all the systems previewing software at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year, none had as much software on such a grand scale as the PlayStation2. With the PlayStation brand having become synonymous with gaming since its launch in 1994, the ever increasing line-up at this years show was no less than daunting.
