Electronic Theatre Preview: NBA 2K7

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre Image2K Sports are seen by many as the main alterative to the all conquering EA Sports brand, and by some, as the superior of the two franchises. Following-up from NBA 2K6 comes the radically titled NBA 2K7 for Next-Generation systems and the old 2K Sports workhorse, the Xbox.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Fahrenheit

PoorBest

Electronic Theatre Image            The first thing I have to state; Fahrenheit is not the game you are expecting. All the previews and video footage would have you believe the title plays out like a high-octane psychological-action-thriller protagonist to Resident Evil’s psycho-analytical horror reaper – rooms seemingly viewed at a pre-set angle containing all manner of puzzles to either be solved or avoided. Well Fahrenheit does put the emphasis on the puzzle-based environment, but not in the way you’d think.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Chicken Little

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre ImageChicken Little is actually a fairly good platform title. It is a multi-format release, but we had a chance to get to grips with the Xbox build at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) more than most. There were three levels playable with each one varying greatly from the others, but all with fairly simple objectives to complete.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Half-Life 2

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre Image            Half-Life 2 couldn’t have been received with any greater praise when it was released late in 2004 for the PC. With graphics, physics and gameplay unparalleled by any first-person-shooter available for the PC to date it comes as no surprise to learn that is was many peoples game of the year. An Xbox conversion has been on the cards for  sometime and, at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, not only did we get to see the game, but we also got to play it.

PoorBest

Electronic Theatre Image            Stargate SG-1 is a title of many expectations. For the fans of the series it has a lot to stand-up to and, for those not particularly well-versed with the escapades of Colonel Jack O’Neil and Captain Samantha Carter, the title has a lot to do to prove itself as a reliable first-person-shooter and more than merely a cash-in on the Stargate franchise.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre ImageGauntlet: Seven Sorrows for the Xbox is what many fans have been waiting for. I started off playing the title in single player although the game allows other players to jump in at any time just by hitting the A button. You can play as several different character classes, each with their own special abilities although the basic moves are the same. You have a strong attack, quick attack, standard attack and a projectile attack which varies from throwing axes to using a magical attack, depending on which class you choose to be.

Electronic Theatre Preview: Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects

E-mail Print PDF

Electronic Theatre Image            With videogames crossing with other entertainment sectors as if they can’t come up with any new ideas of their own, it’ll be no surprise to see that EA have jumped on the comic-book-cross-over band wagon. Marvel Nemesis: Rise Of The Imperfects is the latest spin-off from the Marvel craze sweeping both videogames and film industries.

Electronic Theatre Preview: The Sims 2

PoorBest

Electronic Theatre ImageThe Sims 2 for Xbox was being previewed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and although they wouldn’t let me get my mitts on the control pad at all; they were more than happy to show me what the game was all about – denoting just how far the game was into development, presumably EA feared the possibility of crashes and freezes.
