Nintendo have today confirmed that the UK will receive a brand new hardware bundle for the hugely successful Wii console on October 2nd, 2009. As Electronic Theatre have previously suggested, the bundle will not reduce in price, but instead add more value to the existing package.
Contrary to reports elsewhere, the system’s repackaging has been confirmed as to include not only a Wii Remote, Nunchuk and Wii Sports alongside the console itself, but will now also include Wii Sports Resort and a single Wii MotionPlus unit. The package has been confirmed as keeping the same Suggested Retail Price (SRP) of £179.99 that Wii has been retailed at since launch.
Wii Sports Resort launched packaged with the Wii MotionPlus add-on earlier this year, and sold over one million units in Europe alone within it’s first month on sale. Electronic Theatre delivered an in-depth review of Wii Sports Resort shortly after launch, praising the title for it’s rich content, stating that the game is “entertaining, competitive, and features motion simulation to be marvelled at.”
Though no official comment has been offered with regards to the UK trade price, it has been speculated that Nintendo intend on dropping the cost to the previous price prior to the increase back in March of this year. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Wii and it’s hardware bundles.
